Intended Audience:
This program is designed for all practitioners with the following specialties
or subspecialties: Rheumatologists, primary care physicians, psychiatrists,
neurologists, women health care specialists, OB-GYN specialists, nurse
practitioners, and other health care providers who treat fibromyalgia.
Registration:

this invitation with other colleagues, departmental staff members, and

Educational Objectives:
Physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers will:
- Learn to recognize the clinical, behavioral, physiological, and psychiatric
signs and symptoms of individuals suffering from FM.
- Learn how to evaluate
the safety and effectiveness of pharmacologic agents indicated and/or
currently being evaluated for FM, with a focus on norepinephrine reuptake
inhibitors (NRIs).
- Learn how to evaluate the drug interaction profiles
of pharmacologic agents indicated for FM.
- Learn how to evaluate multiple
decision points to guide screening, diagnosing, and evaluation patients
for FM.
- Learn how to use evidence-supported, pharmacologic approaches
for optimizing management of FM, with an emphasis on NRIs and their
impact on patient symptom relief and other disease metrics.
- Learn how
to use evidence-supported, pharmacologic approaches for optimizing
management of FM, with a focus on duration of therapy, dose adjustment,
and long-term maintenance and/or discontinuation of therapy.
- Learn how
to implement and participate in multimodal approaches—counseling,
pharmacological, support groups, behavioral approaches, and other resources—in
order to provide comprehensive management of patients with FM.
